We have several club activities and events during the year and are always adding more. We welcome all that would like to participate.
Presentation – January 11, 2025
SCARS President, Wayne-W2ZDP delivered a very informative presentation on antennas. He talked about 4 different types of antennas: how they are set up, radiation patterns, and what they are best used for. We had 14 members in attendance with 3 that came from the Whiteville, NC area.
SCARS Christmas Party – December 7, 2024
We had a great time at the SCARS 1st Annual Christmas Party! There were Christmas cards, cupcakes, handmade ornaments, goodie bags, a game, gag gifts, food, fellowship and of course door prizes! We had a great turnout and plan to continue this yearly event. The way the club is growing; we are going to need a BIGGER place to hold the party.

Our special guest speaker at our September 14, 2024 monthly meeting was Mr. Bill Morine, Vice-Director of the Roanoke Division. He shared a presentation on ARRL and preserving ham radio.
FIELD DAY – June 2024
Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933 and remains the most popular event in ham radio.
The Sampson County Amateur Radio Services partnered with Wayne County Amateur Radio Club and Kinston Amateur Radio Club on June 22-23, 2024 to participate in Field Day. It was hot! But they persevered through the heat and made it happen!
